Yellow Cancer Ribbon

The yellow cancer ribbon brings awareness to sarcoma or bone cancer. There are several types of bone cancer. Sarcoma can affect the bones or it can affect the connective tissues in the body, such as the cartilage or myofascial tissue. If your loved one was afflicted with, involved in, or affiliated with this worthy cause, wearing this ribbon would be a great tribute and honor to them.

Many people wear the cancer ribbons as a subtle message or opportunity for conversation to help educate about the cause or disease. They can be worn any day of the year or on a day that is of significance such as the day that is celebrated for the cause.

The yellow cancer ribbon below is designed for bone cancer which is displayed in the icon with the criss cross bone silhouette. Typically on ready-to-wear cancer ribbons, you will find them personalized along the ends. This makes for a significant piece that captures a loved one who has been afflicted or passed away from the disease.

An example of a personalized ribbon is the image below. The 4 lines of text provides 2 lines on the left side and 2 on the right customized by the family or person who is requiring them. The yellow cancer ribbon can be worn by men and women alike as well as children. There is no age gap or gender which is why it is such a great piece.

These types of cancer ribbons are worn on the lapel of a jacket or dress and each ribbon color is significant to a particular cause. People choose to imprint a message or name on them as a way to further personalize this memorial.

Organizations, such as the Sarcoma Foundation of America, help fund research and increase awareness about the disease.

July is the month we recognize Sarcoma Awareness but it does not have to be only during July, you can choose any time of the year to make people aware of this cause. Ribbons can match a specific cause and worn at the funeral or memorial service. Some families also choose to wear ribbons to match a specific funeral program theme and not necessarily for a cause.
